No, they look so cute with their tiny little combat trousers, messenger bags and ipods.

Not annoying but vermin.

There is a difference.

What we need is some urban Eagles. And maybe some urban Pergrine Falcons and urban Sparrowhawks.

They won't eat us - but the pigeons and seagulls are history. yes

shoot them, if you think its cruel go to St Ives in Cornwall, purchase anything like ice cream, pasty, sandwich and you will soon change your mind.

When i was living in marazion, (coast where st michaels mount is) i was kept up pretty much 24/7 by f'ing seagulls, so i removed their nest from my roof, and shot as many as possible, stick that in your pipe and smoke it rspb thumbup

Peregrines can and do catch and kill pigeons, but some seagulls are well hard, and might be a bit much for a peregrine to tackle

Was watching some piece on "Look East" or whatever it's called last night where some hawk-handler had been called in to control the Seagull problem in some town or other somewhere.

The gulls knew that the falcon swooped down from above to attack them, so they all made sure that they were flying higher than the predator.

They're clever buggers, I'll give them that.

ste Hawks need to be controlled, i.e. shot. Although we used to feed them bread soaked in bi-carb, they didn't seem to last long after that. biggrin

I agree, shoot them. They are airborne vermin and, especially when nesting, become vicious. The emmetts are mainly responsible and even though the council puts up signs they still feed the gulls.

I say yes, only for the reason that if a group of people made the noise that seagulls make through the night, especially when they have young ones about, then it would be possible to take action to stop the noise!

Was in St Ives in february this year, the local council had employed a local bird person to parade her eagles et al around the harbour.

Seemed to work, didn't get unwanted sauce on my chips.

I was there last year and they mugged loads of coffin dodgers and children of their hard earned ice creams.

I say blast them like there's no tomorrow

A few years ago I went on a stag do to Brighton. After purchasing the worlds most expensive fish and chips, I settled down on the pier to eat the goods.

A bird which can only be described as an Albatross swopped down and pinched my golden cod.

Gutted.

Firearms should never be discharged against live targets with the exception of enemy soldiers and pikeys.
