exige gear selection probs

hi to all on ph have nt been reading the forum much latlynice to be back any way hope you can help i now have exige 240 cup it is some times hard to select 1 st gear and 2 nd gear i remember having the same problem on my s1 which was solved by ajusting some cables .as i dont have a manual for the car i dont know where to start any help you can give would be great thanks

it could be the linkage or it could be the box.

if it's a notch/crunch when engaging, i would guess box, specifically synchro ring.
- what happens if you raise the revs a little ?
if the gear position simply won't reach, i would guess linkage.

i had big problems with the box on my S.
is there a trustworthy dealer or specialist near you ?

thanks doesnt make a noise at all if i rase the revs that some times helps i will take it to the dealer just in case thanks again
