Annoying noise? S2 111s

Hi all.
As a newbie here you'll have to 4give me if im asking something stupid or not doing sumthing right, but I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced a similar noise, and if they had, what was it? and more importantly how to stop it???
It's normally at fairly low revs and sounds like its coming from the passengers dashboard area? it sounds like a thin piece of steel in rattling against something? I've had a real good look around that area and taken off the speaker housing/cover and had the stereo out but have found nothing, any ideas??

i had something similar and it was the speaker housing but as you have checked that it must be something else.

As a newbie, get used to annoying noises cos every Lotus i have owned has had them and each of them have been different.

Oh the joys of those little rattles ;-)

If I had a fiver for every little rattle I'd investigated on my 111S I'd have enough for a wild night out..lol!

Thing to bare in mind is that the elise is pretty much a kit car with little attention to fine details that may reduce noises.

Are you sure of the location of the noise as I've found it quite deceiving sometimes. Have you got the hard top on because I notice that captures a lot of noise in the cockpit and seems to amplify it.

Yep the hardtops on at the moment, but I did take it off for a short time a month ago on one of those rare occasions when the sun was shining!! but the rattle was still the same and still seemed to come from the same location?? I'm gonna take the LH speaker and housing out and then try it??
