I'm travelling to France a week today and been trying to find a headlamp deflector for my Elise but they all seem to be designed for the rectangular shaped headlamp. Checked on Eliseparts and they do not seem to stock them. Any suggestions? They are a legal requirement so would rather not risk getting a fine from the rozzers!

me neither - driven over there a few thousand miles a year for 6 years +, admittedly, not all at night, but have never bothered with it...isnt there a switch behind the headlights on an S2, but a pig to get to...just stick a bit of tape somewhere on the headlights so it looks like youve had a go if you are really worried...you cant buy them anywhere wink

Agree with above - some masking tape on the lower left side, up to the middle of the lamp, will make the French happy....especially if you are doing most of your driving during the day, where the Elise lamps aren't going to bother anyone, really, even if shone straight at them......( and you don't need them on anyhow, do you??? )

If you want to do a decent DIY job, then park the car about 5-10 yards or so from your garage door, use your hand or some cardboard to block the left headed beam, then tape this area.

Hi Crapper. I'm off to France too, but on Sunday 14th. Spoke to Sportomotive about this, and whilst you can alter the lights, their advice was to use insulating tape to mask of the high and left part of the dip beams. This is what I'll be doing when waiting to board the ferry. Bon voyage et bon vacance.
