adapter plates
Discussion
I have made a couple and go the route of adapting the correct bellhousing to the new box via the use of a plate to bolt to the box then the bellhousing bolts to that, you must also be careful of first motion shaft length.
I did a RV8 to T5 but only had 6 1/2" room,to get the correct gear lever psition.
As nothing came close(tvr:7 3/4") I had to make one using an old auto bellhousing strengthened and bolted to the adapter and also had to recess the bearing into the arm to make it all fit, measured FOUR times cut once
Also if I remember correctly the Audi bellhousingis part of the gear box casing so cant be changed and is tiny compared to the RV8 arse end,you will probably need to adapt a flywheel as well the rover item is enormous and would`nt fit in the bellhousing, dont know what a small fly wheel would do for the engine, wouldnt expect it would like it too much.
but boosted is dead right if you make your own and get it even slightly wrong it will smash the box in no time.
There was a company called Flotech used to make them, might even have what you want.
