Hi

My wife has an 03 Cooper, which recently has developed a problem. The key fob will lock the car but not unlock it ( works fine with the key ), but even then the passenger door has to be opened from the inside. Could this be a simple fuse, or somthing else?

The window on the passenger side has also stopped working, I guess that could be connected?

Thanks in advance

Several combinations of cause here....

The passenger window tends to be the motor...they are extremely common.
The door lock could be the lock solenoid...they are extremely common too.
And the unlock could be the key remote..do you have a spare to try?Or it couild be the general module(bc1)

Saying that they could also all be a symptom of a general module failure.Or even a wiring fault to the N/S door...I have done 12 door looms dur to water ingress via the 'A' pillar connector.

When you operate the window can you hear a small donk from inside the door...you will need to put your ear against it to hear as its not loud...if you can its the motor.

Can the locks be operated via the interior lock button on the switch panel on the dash?

Good place to start though is the fuses as most straight away forget those and spend hours looking for something thats simple...
