Approximately two-thirds of all fatal or serious injury crashes occur on roads with a speed limit of 30mph or less.

So the easy way to justify the fact that gatsos are not primarily on these roads located is to increase the spread of 30 limits.

Doubtless what I'm saying is old hat and been said many times before...

But I wonder when the police will work as enthusiastically and apply the same amount of resource and manpower on ensuring that you can sleep in your bed at night without wondering if scum are going to break in for the car keys, and crack down on rape and child molesting.

Why aren't accident blackspots properly sign posted, why do we have to look for a camera to learn it's an accident blackspot. Course the camera wouldn't be earning then would it....

By all means stick em up in towns, near schools etc. but stop hiding the things behind signs and trees under some pretence of accident prevention, let road users know properly about known danger areas and stop treating us like morons.

The phrase twice as likely to kill someone at 35 mph than at 30mph is a load of bollocks. What they should say is your twice as likely to kill them if you hit them.Your not actually more likely to hit them by travelling at 35mph.

only 52% of all cameras site on roads with 30mph or less while two thirds of all accident occur here, while the other 48% sit on other roads which just happens to tie in with the "1 third lie" where 1 in 3 accidents are caused by speed, this also sits nicely with government target for 2010 for 40% reduction in accidents. therfore with their so-called 1 in 3 statedment and the other 10% which will most likely be covered by improve vehicle design all will be hailed a success and all cost free at the expense of drivers driving more than safely

With millions in taxes and much more since 1997 their lack of conviction to put a halt to these ridicules council tax increases it proves only one thing that they just do not want to spend money on anything but extract more and more from "Joe Public" They are even trying to install monitors into our car to catch over 40 various traffic offences, i have one thing to say "over my dead body"
