Hi All,

I own a TVR Cerbera so am impartial.

However, I have a bet with a mate over and audi 1.9 turbo on an 02 plate.

Now our other nate owns this car and he reckons that he can get from 0 to 100mph in under 400yda (ie just short of quarter of a mile).

I'm quite happy with this as it seems quite feasible given the car and the engine size etc.

My other mate reckons its' boll***s and just won't have it.

We therefore have £20 on it.

Can anyone vouch for this quarter mile top speed and maybe provide some other info eg 0-62mph, standing quarter mile times etc.

Cheers

My chipped 3.0 Tdi A6 quattro with 290bhp and 400lb/ft would do the 1/4 mile in 14.1 which equates to a 0 - 60 time of 6 seconds dead. If it is a 1.9 Tdi I would seriously doubt it.

I would seriously doubt that - the old 1.9 rattler is an alright bag of spanners but does not make for a fast A4!

200 bhp golf sized car would do a 1/4 mile in about 15+sec with a top speed of 95-100 mph
150 bhp golf sized car would do a 1/4 mile in about 17 sec with a top speed of 85-95 mph

all are estimates wink based on times from my cars

MKIV Golf GTI 1.8T will do the 1/4 in mid to low 16's, thats what my mates stocker ran a couple of years ago. Top speed of I think 92mph.
