am currently toying with the idea of shoeing a 225bhp 1.8t lump into our runabout (6n2 Polo Gti). has anyone else looked into this or better still, done it?

any pointers to good specialists/breakers would be appreciated.

cheers

There's been plenty of these done, if you look for back issues of Performance VW and Golf + you'll see plenty. Only a few months ago PVW had one on the cover with 330 BHP IIRC.
I suspect they must be a huge amount of fun.

Dont just limit yourself to a BAM engine code. That is the one everyone goes for because they think its the only one with 225hp from a TT.

Just out of interest, do these engines swap straight in (obvisouley changing gearbox and stuff) with the standard Polo or Cordoba mounts?

No. Have to fabricate subframes.

i would suggest the engine audi did for the s3 (210bhp) I have heard its more reliable, and i think you can do more to it aswell, this is just what i have heard though... wink
