It can be done but you do risk distortion of the panels, depends on the skill of the blaster on question. Where are you based as I can recommend somebody with experience of doing the car?

Have you heard of baking soda blastic, much gentler than shot blasting, but just as effective.

Otherwise there's this place - http://www.surfaceprocessing.co.uk/

When my grandson was doing the Nitromors bit I told him that this was a demonstration of his commitment t the project. It took just over 50 hours work to completely strip the external surfaces, rub down, wash off with hot soapy water, dry all the seams with a hair dryer and etch prime. It was worth it, though.

i am based in chichester near portsmouth is it close to where your thinking?
i would love to carry on with the nitromors bit but my main concern is having panel bare for any length of time before i get to spray them as i only get the weekends to really work on it

Ive only just finished all the welding. I do intend to strip the rest of the paint of with these http://tinyurl.com/3d7vv8

I have just used normal primer for the top of the car and used this on the underside painted on with a brush.

Hi, I have used similar ones from 3M called clean & strip, it is by far the most realistic way to clean EVERYTHING off. I have also used Surface Processing but i reckon the cost of doing a mini wouldnt be worth it.
