I imagine some have woken up this morning thinking that drag boat racing is an exciting prospect, however - the 20th NSRA Hot Rod Drags takes place this coming weekend.

Weekend ticket price £30, more details available on Shakey's website (this includes Friday noon onwards).

The racing aspect including the NFAA, 1 Nostalgia Funny Car, 8 Supercharged Outlaws including 2 Nitro Slingshots (myself testing, Nick & Sue O on static display and some warm-ups), Outlaw Anglia, The Gasser Cirus and a (approx 25 car) cackle fest on Saturday night (as in not daylight, details TBC).

Being the big 20th, a lot of additional attractions are being arranged, and the HRD's is always a fantastic event anyway.

No, it wont make up for what the Euro Finals could have been, but for anyone wanting a day or 2 of nitro and methanol fueled, nostalgia full spectacle, it'll be worth it.

See some of you there smile

Being so close to the track it would be rude not too. Need to get a nitro fix after leaving the finals Saturday afternoon.

I'm not the PH weather expert, so cant say.

I know naffin infact, only that Saturday night there'll be quite a lot of nitro and methanol noise fueled noise, along with some hopefully reasonable runs at some point. smile

...and I'll be checking to see if you leave the Canon in Full Auto mode, dear...

Best sounding car of the day for me Jon, big tip of the hat. It had a real deep booming menace to it, cant wait to see more.

Ta chaps, and to Adam for the video (will upload it to my website in a bit). Was nice to catch up with Mr. Frost and Slinky especially.

A huge thank you to my crew; Bill, Johnny, Dave, Hazel & Luke. Also to Nick & Sue for borrowing loads of their gear, and to Mr. Stubbings for loaning us some air smile

Seeing Excalibur in the metal, with Ray Mumford's work now complete, it's a work of art, and a credit to Nick & Sue's hard work and devotion to building a quentessential fuel slingshot.

I best get the paint brush out shortly smile
