Hi all,
We’ve decided to change our minds and look at buying a Cooper D for my wife, initially thought about buying a BMW 118D M but after test driving both that and a Golf blue motion decided against.
What are your fault’s on this? We have a Lotus so this is really a shopping car + picking up my son, general bus etc. Any advice appreciated. Where would it be cheapest best to buy new etc

no real advice to offer but was a passenger in one this morning. found it to be very noisy. the car has less than 5k on the clock. was in a 320d bmw on saturday and was not even aware that it was a diesel
Well that probably would be because one is an executive cruiser and the other is a little hatch half the price.Ditch the run-flats would be one thing to do.
And buy a manual, as the auto I think is dire on the mini as a whole.

Wife's a bit of a driver so she'd going for the manual, I'll not bother with the upgraded alloy's either then think the standard 15 inch wheel's aren’t run flats

Other than that, make sure you get a pack on there, makes it a more saleable car when your done.
Avoid stupid interiors and st colours. White,Black,Silver are safe bets. But this is up to you.
We have a nice Oxygen blue one in at the mo
We’re looking at white, what dealer's do you work for sir? I'd already mentioned blue?Avoid stupid interiors and st colours. White,Black,Silver are safe bets. But this is up to you.

I have a Pepper white and Black petrol Cooper at the moment and I love it! Mine has the chili pack, which includes 16" alloys with runflats, part leather, aircon and few bits and bobs. The pepper pack that is about a grand cheaper comes with the standard 15" alloys, aircon and other bits. My previous MINI had the 15" non runflats and it was a blast! Looking to ditch my runflats soon.
I have driven the D many times now, and to be honest its pretty nippy but the petrol is so much more refined. Why not test drive the petrol too? Its great on fuel and the tax goes down to £90 next march which is a bonus. :-) And list price is cheaper than the D.
Space wise - The boot isnt that big, but you can get a fair bit in. Drop the back seats and it will hold loads. I managed to get a whole weeks worth of camping gear in mine!
