terms of warrenty for hire car?

my car has got to go in for the ancillery belt to be done. they cannot get one until december!!!!!!

ive said the belt is whining now when driving and im worried it will do something to the engine. My local vauxhall are going back to vauxhall service to ask that my car be taken off the road due to the poor condition of the belt and i get a hire car until its ready?

anyone heard of this?

does the warrenty state im entitled to an equilevant car? or just anything laying about?

you could probably buy the belt from overseas for £25 plus shipping. the timescales given are shocking to be honest.

its a warrenty job but i will pass that information on to them

I'm sure with a bit of effort you'll find a UK stockist if neither Monkfish or Rapid have one. Sod the hire car nonsense, get the dealer to buy it and then leave them to argue with Vauxhall over payment.

Vauxhall gave me a Vectra SRi for 6 weeks while i waitted for my parts to come in. So call Vauxhall customer services and they will hire a car for you free of charge.

i kicked off and said there is no way im driving around in a vectra until december becuase they cant get a part so unless they sort me an equvilent vehicle for the duration they can take the risk of the belt failing, wrapping itself around the bottom pulley and destroying the engine.

I should be picking up a demonstrator VXR8 on saturday, if i dont they dont get my car simple as that.

i pay a large amount for the car every month and i aint driving a vectra i would rather slide down a razor blade using my balls for brakes

Good job they didn't offer you a 1.1 corsa then........ can't imagine what instruments of torture you would inflict upon yourself
Does seem there is a massive differnce in hire cars, depends on the garage it seems. Is there any agreement within VX that one gets an equivalent car or is it down to the dealer?

no idea but i guess money for a new engine is more than me using a demo VXR8

to be honest i actually prefer my VXR to the VXR8 but ill be buggered if im running around in a vectra!

just got off the phone to vauxhall again i pick up my VXR8 on tuesday night and will have it it seems until december!

abit worried about insurance as i have got to insure it for the duration of running it but my Monaro will only be insured by Vauxhall!

anyone got any experience of this. Im worried as i owe finance on my car and if some scrote steals it etc ill be buggered!
