Got home at about 11.30pm last night. Still hypered up so downed a couple of Vodkas. Got to bed about 2.00am, got up at 10.00 this morning and took the car back to Track V Road where its stored. Just got home, so basically done bugger all to do with work. Not that there is any work to at the moment. This has got to be my slackest year ever. The arse really has fallen out of the pipework market!

The Sagaris is a bit different.... the Tuscan wants to move about and sliding the car is enormous fun. The Sagaris is more clinical. Mine didn't over steer at all with the AJP, unless you count a bit of sideways action on fluid coming out of 997 Porsches just before they were overtaken...

The racing come down....frown

We started off car all prepared on Friday morning at 5'0 clock, got to a wet Brands and managed 5 maybe 6 laps before throttle cable snapped. vomit

It took all the rest of that day and part of Saturday to redesign and resolve the issue with some parts help from the lads at Greenstar. It took for ever - not because it's a big job, but becuase I'm pretty useless with spanners and my pit babe, pit crew, photographer, team manager and major sponsor is no better, she does weild a mean brolly though. wink

Sunday early was spent checking the modification and noticing something was not 100% so tried to fix it befoe qualifying - no joy, but then was late for signing on, and then MGCC threw a novice brief in that then made me late for scrutineering. I hate being late and was wound up to death when I went out to qualify with the car not as it should be. Fixed it before the race and then started to get stresssed about slicks and wets.

Slicks on car ready and out to the grid - still wound up, forgot to fuel that car and did not start the race as a result.

Apologies to all the others on the grid that had to restart as a consequence.

Car was full of fuel for race 2 and I went as quick as I could on a circuit that demands knowledge to be quick and safe, but one I'd not been on apart from the few wet qualifying laps and some laps on Friday before things went wrong - it was no fun at all but a best in the mid 58s I suppose was ok.

On the way home (4 and 1/2 hours) I thought about the cost for the weekend and about the fun I'd not had and seriously considered just not bothering in future. Then I thought about Silverstone and Anglesey and how despite some problems I still took some enjoyment from those events.

After a first place first time out, again thanks to the lads at Greenstar, the rest of the season is a come down but I can live for a week off the buzz I get from a few good laps (it hapens so rarely it really is a huge lift).

Back to work today and looking forward to Oulton, the first circuit I'm competing on (loose term) that I have actually driven before.

Hope to see you all there and I hope its dry...

Im currently feeling the pre Race High , in anticipation of a our race this coming Saturday ... I cope with with it via the use of Cigarretes, Alchohol, Piston Heads and obscure 70's Rock music hehe.

We all have days like that and you have to learn from your mistakes, turn your back on it and look forward to the next time.
For me in my series I had a cracking day and a fantastic race even if I do have some problems at the bottom of Paddock. biggrin
