What do you think? (road bike)
Discussion
Yellow all,
Basically I've got £400 to spend on a road bike through the Cycles to work scheme.
at the moment I'm heading towards this http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...CarSelectorGroupId__varientcategoryId_47151_crumb_33980-33957_parentcategoryrn_47151
What are your opinions? any other bikes i should consider?
It will be my first road bike to replace my Marin MTB.
I'm told that it has to be through halfords for the scheme although someone mentioned on here that they will supply any bike - is this correct?
Cheers guys
ETA: it will be for commuting mainly, i'd also like to be able to put panniers on. Also would it be easy to upgrade if i want to?

might want to take a Look at my thread, some valid points in there, I was too considering that bike, however managed to find an older (but better specced) Carrera Vanquish for the same price, ask them if there is any older stock in the area (stores can transfer) and you may get an upgrade for not much money

The boardman road bikes are nice, however start at £600, but the carrera's seem fine to me (i'm a novice, and as such my advice is probably worthless) ...also a word with head office will net you any bike, they can source stuff on request
