My Holdens got the Standard stereo fitted at the moment, I've brought a new double din head unit been need to know what ISO lead I need, Also is there anywhere in the UK who supply the adapter plates do make the head unit fit correctly?

Do halfords sell the ISO leads?

Almost impossible to answer that question with out more info. Depends on how old your car is, what manufacturer stereo it is, and whether that manufacturer made it to ISO standard or not - newer ones yes, older most likely not. If you can obtain the wiring diagram for it, or wiring diagrams for the model car you have, then take it to an Audio installation specialist (not Halfrauds)and ask them if they can match it with an adapter to the new unit ( I assume it is ISO). Or if you dont have the wiring, you could have a look at the Holden forums in Aust. for info on your particular unit.

Thanks for the replys ordered the faceplate, The car is a 2002 HSV VX I've been down halfords and found that the Daewoo has the same connector so now i just need to know how to wire it. Does anyone know where I can find a wire diagram for my audio lead?

I have some of the connectors here.. interesting that Daewoo has the same, but if you get stuck, have some here in Newcastle.. Basically it is the connector, so you don't have to hack apart what you have at the moment. Wonder if the Daewoo is wired the same?

Anyhow, the connectors are.. :

12V+ Accesorries = Red
12V+ Constant = Yellow (this if for storing stuff on the stereo, constant supply).
Ground = Black
Power Antenna = Blue
Remote = Blue/White
Illumination = Orange
Dimmer = Orange/White (this is so that when your lights are on, the unit dims).
Mute = Pink
Right/Front+ = Grey
Right/Front- = Grey/Black
Left/Front+ = White
Left/Front- = White/Black
RightRear+ = Violet
RightRear- = Violet/Black
Left/Rear+ = Green
Left/Rear- = Green/Black

The faceplate mentioned above has only recently shown itself in the UK. Had to get mine from the states (same car) Don't expect any trade guys to know anything about these cars given their rarity (except the noted mechanical gurus smile ) Even Vauxhall sometimes struggle to understand.
Research and get the parts yourself then if you don't want to fit yourself give them to your local shop to fit.

there are two grommits, one in each corner of the bulkhead. Feed in just behind the dash. Assuming you can't find a suitable point on the fusebox under the steering wheel.

My stock one gave up the ghost and now have a 'cheap' Alpine with Ipod connections and controls.

With RDS it is a nice little upgrade

Edited to add that I did no work at all and left it to th local Sextons who were great.

Yeah, i just recently put a kenwood in the ute, and the surround that came with it looks pretty good.
Now I have to get stuck into putting the reversing camera in somehow..
