Heater Motor relay - my experience
Discussion

This is the heater motor control relay. A lot of people seem to have a problem with it.
It is situated in the passengers foot well behind the top panel.
You can see on mine that the middle left pin of the 6 pin connection has been overheating. This has been caused by a poor connection.
There is (was) insufficient clearance on the top plate of the relay for the connector to seat properly. The top plate is easy to remove (4 screws) an then I filed the appropriate amount of the edge (left hand side in picture). Cleaned up the connections first with fine grade paper, then a spray switch cleaner and re-assembled the whole thing
Works again no problems.
I would only recommend touching anything electrical on the TVR with the battery disconnected and make sure you are earthed to the car. TVR electric’s are notoriously easy to blow.
Found it, tucked right up out of the way and velcro'd to the body. Mine is a Mk1 and i presume the above is a Mk2? as they look very different. All sorted now, just have to clean the contacts in the car side plug. The solder had run out where the connector joins the board and there was a couple of other dry joints too, which i resoldered.
