exactly why betting shops do will in a recession, if you only have £5-10 left in your pocket at the end of the wk for a night out, you're not going out so might as well try and turn it into £30!

Hmm so you put your fiver on a 2/1 and win. You have £15.

Do you:

a) Walk away and buy £15 worth of beer?
b) Take your £10 winnings and reinvest the £5?
c) Take your £15 and think this gambling is easy, so bet some more?

The answer will be c). The answer is always c) when dealing with small bets. This is why betting shop and casino owners do not drive F reg ford sierra's.

I tried playing at gambling with £30 online. I won some, I lost some, over 3 weeks I turned my money into £250. I saw that as a bit of fun so didn't withdraw the winnings I kept playing, I now have an empty account on a gambling site.

You will not win, if you are skint and have a spare £5 a week start to save it and keep upping your savings. Unless you can afford to lose money don't gamble with it.

Do you really believe this is even remotely possible? even for a second?

I never understand why gambling has this "glamourous" image. Casinos and Poker conjour up sleazy, lazy, sweaty liars trying to make money by doing sod all.

Start with an imaginary betting bank of £100,000. Spend about 4-6 hours per day studying various horse racing and statistic websites in an effort to find profitable horses. Record every imaginary bet you make and keep track of your imaginary betting bank. If after a year your imaginary betting bank is worth about £150,000 and never fell below £60,000 then you're very good and you can consider using real money. If after a year your imaginary betting bank is worth about £200,000 and never fell below £80,000 then you're very, VERY good and you can consider using real money. If after a year your imaginary betting bank is worth £300,000 or more then it was a complete fluke and you'll lose it all in the next few months, probably weeks.

you could always play the irish lotto with betfred, if you play the pick 3 balls from 6 the odd's offered are 610-1 and i think from memory the true odd's are 573-1. you might not win but at least they won't get rich off you..

6 drawn in the lotto, but 45 or 49 options.
