Yup. That's me.

According to guidelines issued to park wardens in Telford Town Park, if you are an adult perusing said Park of an agreeable sunny Sunday afternoon without a kid in tow, then you will be taken aside by some slack-jawed numpty f!!ckwit in a uniform and quizzed as to why you are in the Park without a child; on the suspicion that you are a paedo.

Any legal backing to them doing that? Is "Go fk yourself." a legit response? Or if they grab your shoulder when you ignore them can you do them for assault?

Council staff have no rights or powers to stop and quiz anyone.

If I was ever approached by one I'd just ignore them and if they got annoying I'd advise them to stop harrasing me unless they fancied a spell in A&E.

If they stopped and asked me what I was doing in the park I would say "I really want to help you with your query but I'm afraid the data protection act 1998 precludes me from revealing the nature of my business in the park".

And then the world would surely implode.

Rediculous, how long till one of them gets a swift one to the jaw?

I`d be very offended if confronted with that accusation, and would probably fly into a rage at them.

Hang on....

what are they expecting to hear?

"Excuse me good sir, might you be a kiddy fiddler perchance?"
"Why yes, you have noted my lack of children and i presume you shall direct me to an area rich in youngsters?"

Viz Top tip: In order to avoid being questioned, simply abduct a youngster and take them to the park with you.

Council staff on the lookout for paedophiles have been ordered to stop and quiz any adults found walking in Telford Town Park without a child, it was revealed today.
Wouldn't they be more effective if they quizzed those adults with children?

After all, a paedophile without a child isn't harming anyone.

What sort of absolute cretin would be stupid enough to walk around a park and ask random adults if they're padeos? They must realise that, sooner or later, someone will "take offence" and put them in a wheelchair?confused I'd go absolutely apest if someone came up and suggested/implied I was up to that sort of thing.

If it saves one child's life it is worth it.

That'd be a nice job for a peado too, own little uniform for his mum to iron and perfect cover to hang around in parks all day and make new friends.

I see a flaw in their plan, adults on their own are not molesting children.

Adults with a child, that's the problem.

My initial thoughts exactly.

Mrs m & I - through choice - have no kids. We're just not keen on them, but we appreciate that other couples are. It's whatever flicks one's switch really.

But the thought that my wife and I could be accosted whilst walking in a public park, accused - effectively - of possessing the surname "West", just for not having a couple of kids with us is utterly disgraceful.
