I have a mid engined polo that I use for drag racing . I is also street legal and I am looking for some advice.

Being mid engine when I get up high speeds the front end obviously goes a bit light, with out adding weight how can I combat this with slowing down my 1/4 mile times.

Also is a flat bottom worth it on a drag car ?

In drag racing everything helps to shave that extra 10th you need.

Last time I saw your car it was running some serious rake. If you can lower the front more, thus shifting the centre of gravity forward then it may help. However you face the fundamental issue that a polo is not a drag car and you are going to have to go pretty far to make it into one. What size front wheels are you running?

It might be an idea to get onto http://www.polog40.co.uk/. There are some very knowledgeable people on there who can give you polo-specific advice.

Thanks for the reply

I thought about lowering the front and moving COG forwards but then I thought that, that would be loosing me traction from the rear wheels ?

I run 15" wheels the moment front and back, But I am thinking of going to 13" ones with normal skinny road tyres on the front and some large profile M&H drag tyres on the rear.

Can you teel me what you mean by rake ?

Smaller skinnier wheels will reduce the drag on the front wheels. Just like on real drag cars [no offence]

13s on the front will really get the nose down. Nose down arse up stance on a car is known as rake
