Morning all,

Noticed yesterday that the swirl tank brass headed screw cover thing has got a hairline crack in it and a miniscule amount of coolant is seeping through. Looked on tinternet but can't seem to find a replacement anywhere. Steve Heath Eng do a swirl tank plug and cover alternative. Any one tried these or where can I get the brass screw from ??

Cheers
Simon.

The Steve Heath plug is brilliant, as it's now actually possible to undo the nut for access!

Is it a direct replacement or does the tank need adapting ?

No adapting; straight replacement. Just keep a 10mm Allen Key in yer glove box.

It's a 3/8 BSP plug if my memory is correct. (It should be the same thread size as a household radiator has)

Standard radiator plug from B&Q Brass, hex head and a packet of O-rings from the same isle all for less than £1.

This has been on mine for a couple of years the advantage is that it fully seals on the O ring and so only needs lightly nipping up, which make removal easy. The standard plug gets very tight and resulted in damage to my swirl pot.

Cheers,
