driving back from dealer (dream machines) today after having the car 'tuned' took about an hour an a half.Cost about 80 ish but the the pay back was worth every single penny. Now, I generally agree that road racing is both dangerous and stupid and I am sure that all of us have got used to the usual 'goading'by pratt's who are not worth the petrol money let alone the points, and worse.

But this TWAT was joined to my boot lid from the Barking junction on the A406 until somewhere near the turn off to Ilford. I dabbed my brakes ALA "*uck off" but brain dead boy was having non of it.

He was in some sort of Datsun and normally would not have even warranted my attention, but I had been stuck in traffic for about an hour and a half and just wanted to get home and relax, the annoying lights in my rear view, close enough to light up the cabin ( i hasten to add) wound me up no end...anyway pay back time, a speed camera, slowed to about 50 and dropped a couple of cogs, as soon as the 'ruler marks' ended floored the Tuscan and kept it down without looking up.

As i did check the rear view whilst changing up, realised my 'friend' was left far, far,far behind. He then decided to flash his lights and then keep on his main beam not that it was a distraction to me, being so distant, perhaps it was a vain attempt to prove that even a TVR cannot beat the speed of light.......or perhaps he was just a TW@.

My money's on the latter

ahhhh, the best one for me was a couple of weeks back. Coming back from a golf day I joined the A1M at the M25 junction going north. A lady in a fiesta??? decided to follow me at around 75-80. On approaching the Hatfield tunnel (yes, you've guessed it) I decided to drop it into 4th and lose her. Unfortunately I couldnt get 4th so decided to go back to 5th and just floor it. I found 3rd!!. WER-HAYYYYYYYY. The noise from the exhaust was awesome and as I watched the fiesta disappear in the rear view mirror I revelled in the sound reverberating off the walls. When I approached the end of the tunnel I slowed to a respectable (legal) speed just in case any BIB were waiting just past the tunnel. Lets face it, they would have had to have had the music on pretty load to not hear the racket I made. Eventually, when I turned off at the following junction the fiesta finally overtook me. It was so much fun I turned round and went back through the tunnel south and then north again each time grinning from ear to ear.

Also, had a BMW come up behind me fast earlier this week as I was approaching the Hatfield tunnel. With my new found knowledge of 3rd I did the same and again and watched the reflection disappear in the rear-view mirror.

it must be something in this late sunshine, had the same thing constantly when going to and from work. had to check that no one had stuck a sign on the back of the car saying "coming muppets race me" - would love to have had one on the back saying off.

at the lights a little kid on his moped was glaring at me (both at the front of the 2 lanes) and revving what i can only take for a lawn mower engine strapped to his fart and hoppit.

and then he pulled away on amber, usually give all cyclists/motorcyclists a very wide berth, but on this occasion so wanted to clip him just a little bit. In the end as i shot past him the noise and the slipstream did the same job. bloody tw@t.

must be muppet mating season, they are all out in force

hi,
new to this.
dus n e one know whether the cameras at the entrance and exit of the hatfield tunnel (northbound and southbound) are cctv cameras or speed cameras?
only ask as went thru one at around 80-85 ish and think i saw some sort of flash but as it was dark it cud have been reflection of my headlights?

at the same time also see other ppl speed past during day on way to work and back....

some input would be appreciated!

Thanks

Isn't it funny that sooooo many young dudes in go faster skirted dustbins try to have a go at a Tiv? (AS IF!!!). I try not to let them bother me and often allow them to screetch off from the lights first as I prefer to have them well in front of me rather than hanging on my @rse. Anyway, who needs to race when you have a TVR? After all, we know what we know - that very few cars can come close! Problem is everyone wants to try. On the other hand, I have never had anyone try to race me in a Porky, Ferrari, Maserati etc. Perhaps these are more sensible older drivers (or perhaps they also know what we know!).
