Don't park my car in a garage and recently been smelling fuel. Foud out yesterday that its inside the car. The space behind the passenger seat is sodden with fuel/water (have been doing a bit of wet weather driving.
Took the rear cover for the fuel pump area off and the floor is wet, but also inside under the engine the floor is wet with a fuel smell.
All the coupling parts to the pump and filter are dry?
I was thinking maybe filling the car up to high is causing this?
Strange though as my MPG isn't bad, the drive from portsmouth to castle combe I did 25mpg and driving back with a few spirited runs and some around town work i got 21mpg.
Any ideas.

On another note I have had some 1/4 splitters made from black arylic at £32 (copied noblemods), I will file the edge to round it and paint them. If anyone is interested I'll give you there details.

Its not a smell there is actual fuel in the car. The car sits out side and you can smell it when walking upto the car all the time (but that maybe because the fuel has been soaking for a while and the masses of rain I've been driving through over the last week may have helped it wash inside the car).

Where is this?I did remove the overflow pipe from the filler neck and blow down it to see if it was blocked and it wasn't.

Mine started leaking (heavy smell etc) and mine hadnt been driven for 7 months prior!! Just walked past the car one day and noticed the smell. If this pipe has failed an you are driving it could collect on the undertray and "find" its way into the car (as fluid has a habit of doing)
there was NO external signs of wear or failure in the braiding.
