Hamilton deserves his penalty
Discussion
because had he not been able to drive over the chicane, he would either not attempted the pass in the first place or would have had to break hard to avoid collision. Either way he would not have been on the tail of KR to pull off the overtaking manouver. What the stewards saw was an "ungentleman conduct" in not fully giving back KR his position. He should have allowed a bigger gap between him and KR before attempting the overtake. Had he been a little more mature he would have realised that his car was easily faster and could have overtaken on the straight.

Was it 'ungentleman conduct' for Kimi to force LH onto the grass when they came across the slow Williams ?Or to overtake under yellows ?
Or when he hit LH from behind through La Source ?

Where does it state any of that in the rules? Or are you just making up new amendments a-la the FIA?groomi said:

The real shame is that Lewis seems to be one of the few who have remembered this.

Having gained an unfair advantage by driving over the chicane instead of through it, he should have given back KR his position PROPERLY -not in the half baken manner that he did so. Rules are rules.
What constitutes properly? Kimi was completely in front, Lewis went behind him. How much more properly could he have given the place back? You obviously know more about the rules than Charlie Whiting so presumably you are one of the stewards, did both the others agree with you?andyps said:

Give it up now, there's a good lad.
