Good or Bad I Need People Opinions....
Discussion
Ok then laugh at this but things are getting to a point where I may loose my rag (oh yes...), I moved to my dream house in a small Close of 8 houses.
Everyone has a garage and two parking bays, my house also has 3 street spaces down the side of it. My direct neighbour put block paving on his side garden to stop people parking on his side of the road. I have not done it as I thought it would not be an issue.
Anyway, a guy in the corner of the Close had a small town car and a work Ford Transit. Everyday for over a year he always had his car on the drive but always put his van outside my house, sometimes for a couple of weeks without moving during holidays. I lived with it but the van had a big oil leak, I asked him to fix it (in a nice way) and nothing happened. Anyway a year later I wrote to his boss and asked again and said if it was not repaired I would report to the council. The van was fixed, all fine again.
A few weeks later we are having a familiy do as a friend had been hurt in a road accident and we all get together for a meeting. Everyone parked down the side of my house and on my drive. The above neighbour's wife swore at one of my guests saying the place looked like "a f...ing car park". I was annoyed because no one else in the Close was put out. I went over and said I said I thought they were rude to comment to one of my guests....
One week later I am having dinner with my wife and kids when the above neighbours grandson, comes in to the Close. He goes across my garden and hammers on my side kitchen window. I give chase to his parents house and nearly break down the door. The kid has a fit in his hall and I back off and walk away.....
Some weeks later one of the same neighbour's other grandsons turns up in his Clio, new driver I guess age 17. Bang!... I hear, I look out of the window and he's driving off from behind my kart race van on to his grandand's drive. I look at my van and find the rear bumper hanging off. I go to the house and ask for the lad to come and have a chat. Nothing...
I leave it 12 hours and then report a hit and run and the fact the kid has no tax. Both Police and DVLA informed.
Now we have one of the chaps other gransons lodging at the house. The lad has a bad reputaion (drugs and GBH to name but two previous convictions) and I am a little concerned. Anyway this lad drives a really old banged up transit, that now spends 4-5 days a week outside my house.
Am I over reacting to now go and confront the situation? Or do I just dig up my garden and put in some block paving for my own parking bays.
Does anyone else have this problem with a familiy that has excess cars/vans, so they park in an un-neighbourly way?
Here's tonights effort (updated)

Whilst you don't own the parking space, I too would be pissed off with vans being parked constantly in front of my house. We had this problem where large vans/trucks were being left outside our house for the weekend etc.
At the end of the day, it's a residential area and vans and trucks aren't vehicles suited to this environment.
But in reply to your question, I'd be feckin livid. You got scrotes smacking your window, them being abusive to your guests, their grandson hitting your car etc. Not to mention them parking vans outside yours for days at a time.
Sounds like the problem probably won't go away, hence your nieghbour getting block paving put down.

Entirely reasonable to object strongly to any of these.H_Kan said:

Entirely unreasonable to object to this unless they are blocking access.Mat Hammond said:

Does the parking obstruct access for fire brigade and the like? Everyone has a garage and two parking bays, my house also has 3 street spaces down the side of it. f8cking heck, and i thought my neighbours are pondlife. tbh, you always get 'bullies' in any sort of neighbourhood - i started life in a council estate and the skiprats there, were no worse than the middle-class 'chavs' i [very] occasionally have issues with - only difference is that in a cul-de-sac you are hemmed in with them whether you like it or not, and it's harder to teach them a lesson.
It's the best solution - they sound like skiprats, pondlife, detritus - they won't change, it's easier to move on.

If I were you, I'd move. Things will not get any better.
Is that the best you can come up with? Bit drastic don't you think?
