I need some software for my photography.
I am only 14, so at the moment I haven't got a job. Which equals not much money, lol.

I would really like Photoshop, but I just don't have that type of money to spend on photo editing software.

Whats the next best thing?

I was thinkin of Coral Paintshop Pro X2

(Note: I need to watermark photos)

There is GIMP which is totally free, and pretty similar to Photoshop, or if you can get your school's approval, the student version of Photoshop is approx £120.

Photoshop Elements isn't too expensive compared to the full on package, and will probably provide all the functions you are likely to need to start with.

Gimp for heavy involved editing, i dont get on with it but thats just me, I use CS2.

Picasa for organizing and light editing.

Personally I'd try for a copy of PS elements on ebay. Someone must be selling a copy that came bundled with a digital camera or something. Just be aware of fakes. That way, when you come to be in a position to upgrade to the full package you'll already be able to use most of it. Also better career wise (scary!) to be using industry standard stuff.

I've got PSPX2 and Elements 5, and I prefer PSP, although that may have a lot to do with using PSP from about version 6.

Actually, about 90% of the work I do now is done in Lightroom.

To be honest I'd start with paint.net, as it's free, and actually rather good.

If that fails to do what you want download a trial of PS Elements

If that does what you want buy a copy. Maybe can get a good deal on that from school too.

If that then gets your interest enough to take it further, look to the full PS - and buy a copy while at school while you can biggrin
