Not a frequent poster but would really appreciate some advice.
Despite owning my Chim for 3 years it is likely i will receive a ban for speeding.
Therefore just wanted some advice on what i can expect insurance broker to say when i tell them.
The offence code will be for speeding, not dangerous or careless driving, and I am expecting upto a 6 week ban +/- 6 points and heafty fine.
Currently insured with Haggerty and have never had any claims for 15 years! (touch wood)

So what do you lot reckon my insurance broker is gonna say?

Thx

Hi Mate

i got a month ban in dec 2007 for speeding over 100.
Informed insuarance co for main car and my tvr, main car went up £200.00
My Tvr (with Haggerty) went up about £35.00

So i think it was very reasonable.

Hope its put your mind at rest.

FYI you cannot get a ban and points. It's one or the other.

What's the point in banning people for 1, 2 or 4 weeks?

I always thought that a ban was for several months minimum.

I appreciate that it's not nice to be banned at all but it's only going to cause a bit of inconvenience to have a small ban so it seems to be a bit pointless.

Personally I'd take that over points anyway.

Lots of points there.

Chances are you'll drive slower after a ban, so your premium should go down. It's a funyy old world...

yes and if you get a ban instead of points, your existing points STAY! So I still had 9 points when i got my licence back (unless of course you get a ban due to totting up to 12points, then you lose it for longer but get a clean one back).

edit cos I can't spell
