Three years in and still happy

Hi all,

Got my T350C serviced last week, needed new engine mounts, but no other warnings or issues. And to celebrate 3 years and 1 week of ownership I looked back over my costs. This will probably be the kiss of death, but excluding upgrades it's cost just under £1,200 per year. I've covered just over 12,000 miles in the three years.

Very pleased and would gladly do it over and over again, which of course I intend to do because I'm not selling any time soon, unless I end up buying a Sag!

Thats a Lovely Looking Car Mate. I love the colour to! i had a mini Cooper S JCW in a simalar colour and it looks the dogs danglers when its all polished up!

Great car Darren

I am also celebrating 3 years of TVR ownership , and coming up to a 12,000 mile service. I've had the speed 6 engine rebuilt and upgraded from 3.6L to 4.0L Red Rose last year(my own choice), and have done about 10,000 miles with the old engine and 10,000 miles with the new engine. Would never consider selling unless to purchase another TVR.

Ironically I too studied Avionic(Electronic/Aeronautical) Engineering at Uni and have spent 12 years in the aerospace industry

Good job I finally got my profile photos sorted last night, someone keeps messing with the system here on PH. Car's starting to pick a few chips up now above the armourfend and the head lights are really dirty inside and need cleaning out, but it's one of those jobs I keep putting off.

Ian, which Uni did you study at? I'm still in the aerospace industry, loving every day of it.

I'm designing ASICs for mobile Comms now, but did enjoy my 12 years with Smiths Industries designing IC's for projects on the Tornado, EH101, EFA, Apache, Boeing 737, and 777. I graduated from Queen Mary College - University of London in 1983 - long time ago

I'm at 3 years and 15k miles, now. Still loving it, though I suspect the next service will be new clutch, N/S engine mounts, and two new rear tyres, so ask me again later!

Thanks Paul, yeah I've already had to do the clutch, at 16k for me. I was fortunate that I acquired mine with two new rear tyres , but had to get two new fronts for the MOT earlier this year.

Glad to hear you guys are in it for the long-term too!

Had mine 4.5yrs and only minor issues to 24k, then various upgrades this year that I'm very happy with that work well on road and track.

So I'm looking forward to another 4 years.

Good to hear of another long term T350 owner with only minor issues. About time we kept all these doom-monger's at bay!

I'm not quite in the three year club yet but i've had mine a year this week and i can't ever see me getting rid of it. I've had a few niggles, engine mounts gone, cracked welds on the cat pipes, leaking cooling system, had to change the battery and a trip on a low loader after the throttle cable decided to undo itself. Even after this it still puts a big smile on my face everytime i start her up!

I'll be purchasing some nitrons next month as an anniversary present to her!

So would you advise the red rose upgrade... is it still around, and do you mind me asking the rough cost of it?

I'm coming up to three years too, well chuffed, T350 has nearly been as reliable as the Griff, on 25k now too.

Yes I would advise getting the red rose upgrade, and to 4.0L aswell. The most noticeable difference between the 4.0L and 3.6L is that the 4.0L engine has more torque. If you want to know more about my upgrades then PM me.

Hi Paul, when were you at Lufbra? A bank... shame on you! I'm still in touch with some Auto guys from Lufbra, one worked at Renault F1 for a year. Nice two wheeled bike fleet btw. I rebuilt my road bike over the winter and resprayed it in Laser Blue, to match the T350 of course!

Graduated in 2000, so a youngen, miss it, even if it was an 'us' against 'them' (department) kind of degree, but it did mean we all became friends. the guys i'm in touch with have gone on to..

4.5 Tamora years and counting.

3 1/2 years in MrsS's Tamora, just over 3 years with the Sagaris. One job I was not expecting was engine mounts on both cars. Other than that I stuck a clutch in the Sagaris (that it didn't need as it turned out). The rest has been nothing but pure pleasure.
