Variable servicing on TT 3.2 Mk2 Coupe
Discussion
As my car is now approaching 1 year old this Oct, I checked with Audi two weeks ago to make sure that the car is on a variable servicing schedule, they advised that the car is indeed on a VS and a yearly oil change / service won't be required. However, I have just received another call to remind me that the car is due for it's first oil change which is a bit confusing.
I promptly reminded them that I was told that an oil change is not required (my car has done 3k miles), they did advise that if the oil change message does come up then I would have to take it in for an oil change as car will calculate the 'viscosity of the oil' and decide whether it is required - apparently this is more relevant for cars that's done such low mileage...
Am I being fobbed off?

AVS means the car need to come in either every 2 years or when the car calculates the oil needs changing, typically 9000-14000 miles.
If you do lots of short journeys, or drive every where like you stole it, it will only go 9000miles. If you do lot of motorway miles at relatively low speed, 60-70, rather than usual UK outside lane motorway speed 90-100, some people get as much as 18000miles.
Press in the button on the dash, left hand one which lets you set the clock etc well pulled out. And it will say something like. 7000miles or 350 days to service. Given you have only done 3000miles in a year, you will probably get to 2 years.
It only needs to come in for service once its say SERVICE. You can press the button and see how much time/miles your have left at any point.
Hope this helps
