My biggest service bill from a dealer was 1100 quid. Brakes and oil service. Felt as if i had been raped.

A mate of mine just got his '06 C230 serviced by Mercedes. £700 for the service alone! And new front discs and pads cost him another £400!!

Get on the phone ring around ask if that's the best you can do and ask for fourplus discount if applicable.

Should get it down nicely, otherwise get the service done at BMW for the stamp and the rest done at an indy.

My E90 330i just cost me £99 for a parking light bulb to be changed! Ok it was for the angel light type and difficult to get at because of the air box but .......
I couldn't be bothered with the struggling, so my wife took it in expecting a bill of maybe £60 - max.

perhaps caution needs to paid when dealing with dealers at moment ...with little new car action perhaps they will chance arm on servicing .....most punters just rock up and go oh well and hand over the credit card.

Oh yes. My missus ended up getting conned by a Renault dealer for new brakes when her car went in for a service. She knows nothing about cars and I was away. Went to collect and was advised "it could do with discs up front and pads all round". She queried if it had to be done now and explained that I told her nothing else needs doing beyond the service. The Service Manager looked at our kid and said "well, if you're taking the children out in the car I certainly wouldn't risk driving away in it without getting the work done now. You can't put a price on that sort of thing. Can you?"

Credit card handed over and rate card amount swiped.

I was bloody livid with stealer I can tell you.
