to be fair in small letters at the top it says something like "f1 fans around the world ask:" and then in much bigger letters it says " IS IT FIXED?" still quite pleased with them though....Headline on the cover:

Good on them as it's the front page headline that gets seen by all.
That's about as far as any mag could go without risking being sued. Whilst the headline is in the form of a question - and no doubt the article inside is full of if/and/buts/people say/many think etc - but it is quite clear what the editorial team think the answer is.
And this is Autosport, just about as conservative a publication as motor racing has. It's a very brave move. Do they know something is about to happen?
It's yet another black mark against Mosley's stewardship in putting Donneelly in charge of the stewards. Especially as, I've read, the Kenyan guesting steward - I wonder how much they got paid for the trip to Spa - was one of those who voted for Mosley.
I really wish I had the moral firmness to ignore Monza but I know I won't. And the irritating thing is that the guilt I will feel whilst watching it will take away any enjoyment I might fleetingly enjoy.

Whilst they feel F1 isn't fixed, there are accusations that it certainly feels that way. And a couple of their writers, Charles Bradley being one, comment that Kimi was getting away with stuff, with more than a hint that the colour of his car influenced the decision.

Speaking to the drivers, an interesting pattern emerged. Most of them reckoned that Hamilton had probably not given back every last iota of the advantage he gained by cutting the chicane.
He was in front of Kimi (at the very least alongside) before being pushed wide so perhaps he should have been a nose in front of Kimi across the line. Instead of giving back a greater advantage to Kimi by dropping back behind him. After reading this thread I was very disappointed to read the Autosport article, although not 100% surprised, very late last night.
I was even questioning if the Autosport 'Editors' (how many do you need?!?!?!) had watched the same race I saw and the same clips I have watched back 10+ times.
The corner was arguably, IMO, 50/50 given that Lewis had his nose ahead before the right turn. He would have had the advantage of the following left had KR given him any racing room (not let him by but racing room you see 100+ times a year given at all levels of the sport, even in tin tops).
Had Lewis stuck to his guns and kept coming KR's actions would have resulted in them both, most likely, being out on the spot. Lewis had less than a tenth of a second to decide what to do. try to follow KR through and risk having his nose knocked off/taking KR out or cut the corner and cead the place back. He chose the latter and followed the letter of the rules regarding that. Yes he did go off track but if you were going to ping him for that you would have to have pinged almost the whole field!
As one of the Autosort guys said, they were at it tooth and nail. It was a fair, hard, fight and instead of letting the sport bask in the glow of a fantastic final few laps which would have gained much press about it's recovery from 12 months before the stewards decided to plumb new depths.
FWIW I would be arguing the same case if the roles over those last laps had been reversed, although obviously I would be saying that it was wrong that KR was penalised but that I was glad Massa had fluked the points
If Massa wins the WDC this year I will still be content (although not over joyed!) but if that is to be the case I just hope he wins by more than 4 points...
