Whats the closest you've ever come to death?

i was out skiing last year for the first time with my school, long story short i didnt listen to instructions and ended up crashing into a snowpile at about 30mph downhill and being launched about 10 foot in the air flying forwards at the same time landing directly on my neck and not being able to move a part of my body for over 30 minutes, coughing up blood and everything. I didnt go to hospital either it was like i was dead but alive in a way lol.
Been in quite a few crashes, most of them with no seatbelts or airbags.
Remember when I was 5 or so, asleep in the backseat, no belt, and next thing I recall is waking up on the roof of the car, staring up at the backseat. No injuries.
Next was a frontal impact, no belt or bag, approx 30-35mph, no injury.
Many more as well, some might have killed me in unlucky circumstances, but I'm still here

last night i was going along the M25 with 3 mates in my car when we spot something that looks like a dead horse in the middle of the motorway, as we get closer we identify it as a blown out lorry tyre and the lorry was parked on the hard shoulder about 80 metres up the motorway so it had only just happened.
Immediately i wondered what might have happened if we were behind or to the side of the lorry and the blown tyre had hit my car causing me to lose control.
No real danger came to us but it could have been a very different story!

Was swimming off a beach with no lifeguards in The Gambia a few years ago with my wife, when we got caught in a rip tide that very quickly pulled us way offshore.
Fortunately, we are both strong swimmers & started swimming hard for the shore. I had just got my feet to touch the bottom when we saw a couple of shark fins pop up out of the water not far away. Draggged my wife out of the water pdq. It still haunts me today, as we were both pretty close to being gonners.

Big crash, it took off at full throttle from stationary, it has been proved, the car rolled, made pretty patterns on the grass while on its side and it set fire to itself at full throttle while resting on the local police station. I was unconscious, the police let it burn until the fire brigade came. Some superhuman pulled me out (I'm 20 odd stone) and the policeman turned the engine off when it was still screaming away!
Brain tumour? I had a single seizure but that was luckily hours before the tumour was removed when I was in my hospital bed.

Only close shave for me was in Sharm earlier in the year. Did a shore-dive and the first one was fine - down for about an hour without a problem. Had a rest and went back down again. When checking my guage I noticed that it was wavering and took a while to find its level. Alarm bells should have started to ring then but I carried on as we were on the ascent.
All of a sudden, I couldn't get any air through the reg - tried an exhale to try and clear it so I could breathe again but it wasn't having any of it. My buddy was about 8 feet in front of me and I couldn't get his attention so I looked up and thought 'I can make that' - was probably only about 8 meters to the surface but it was the longest 8m of my life.
Got to the surface and was gasping for air. I know I probably panicked a bit but I am a pretty inexperienced diver. Really shook me up and it wasn't till I got back to the hotel and told the wife what had happened that I realised that she could have been taking the kids home on her own.

Approaching a jam on the M180 we chose to go in lane 3 and wait, in lane 2 a silver Bora pulled up along side us, a lorry then went and hit the Bora flat out into the back of another wagon. The Bora was crushed smaller than a Smart car, instant death for the poor chap and the worst thing I've ever witnessed.
We tried to do whatever we could but you could not even see inside the car, the lorry driver was eating his pack up at the time and had not seen the traffic backing up.
