I'm 33.

At the beginning of this year I'd just sold my house at the top of the market, had a loving girlfriend and a decent job.

Within six months I'd left my job and split up with my girlfriend and then I started dating a younger girl for a number of weeks who really fked up my head.

I've now got myself a proper bachelor pad walking distance from the local bars which I find I am now going to every Friday and Saturday night and getting wasted. Not really interested in pulling random sgs though I've had the chance.

I also have this urge to spend a big chunk of my future house deposit on a 996 911 or maybe a hothatch.

I'm already in the process of selling my Beemer.

So is the above a clinical definition of Mid-life Crisis? confused

PS. I have now started applying for jobs.

Doesn't sound like a midlife crisis pretty normal behaviour.

You haven't mentioned why you left your job and dumped the bird.

I suspect you were unhappy and have decided (perhaps subconciously) to make another stab at being you.

Is it a midlife crises? Yes in way, but only becuase most 'mid-life crisis' are spurred by the realisation that one hasn't yet got as far in life as planned.

Ride it out, you'll soon figure out what to do.

Thing is I did do all this when I was younger - I've done plenty of partying. But never walked out of a very good job just cos I was fed up! And the relationship just wasn't working, even though to most people she was my idea woman.

Its what makes youa PH'er rather than a sad accountant nerd. Most people dream of fast cars but don't buy them because of the bills or retirement we buy them even if we can't afford them.

Oh and get the Porsche, everyone must own that marque in their life. And a kitcar or two, they are nuts. And a motorbike (Although I haven't got the balls for that yet).

Forget the Porsche. Blow all your cash on a Diablo, pick up loose Women and spend more time in the pub. Worked for me hehe

Sounds to me like your pretty clued up. You left your job because its not making you happy and the same goes for your ex. Why carry on in either if your not happy? And fk it, buy a porsche while you can....its your money!

Mid-life crisis? I would say Yes.

Often referred to as The Male MenoPorsche.

Similar situation myself. Split up with the long term GF 2 years ago (her desicion mind you) and so have spent the last two years going out more, picking up random women, moved back to London, and am now desperate to get the Chimaera back on the road!

I say, why the fk not - enjoy!

Mid-life crisis !?

You havent hit mid-life yet !
You dont sound like you are having a crisis !

I wouldnt blow ALL your future deposit, always good to have a wad in the bank and i think is a real pre-requisite for a true black-collared bachelor alpha-male type !

You sound like you are emerging from under the stone of traditional male thinking into a new world... hehe

This isn't a mid-life crisis - you're depressed. Go and see your GP. Explain what's happened.

Don't buy the car (well not at the monent anyway!) you're just trying to buy yourself happiness. Get back to happy first, then buy it and enjoy it.

Do you have a friend or relative who you would consider a role model? Spend some time with them. Be honest about your circumstances and try and gain inspirataion from the way that they behave. The only that is stopping you from being happy and being successful is YOU - but when you are depressed, it's almost impossible to take the necessary steps to lift yourself out of it alone.

You need a hand-up. Asking here was a good first step; now let your GP and your friends help you too.

Can't be a MID life crisis for a number of reasons

1) Nobody thinks 66 is old enough to die so 33 is not MID.
2) You are not married.
3) You don't have kids.
4) Something funny will come to me.
5) He does not want a mk2 cavalier.

I think the op is having a false start crisis.
