Difficult Choice....
Discussion
Boys and Girls,
I am trying to make a decision here what to do and would be interested to hear both sides of the coin-coin being Lamborghini or Ferrari
The Testarossa was the first supercar I ever drove at 19 and I was smitten when I did, so I had to get one one day...and did so 7yrs later.
I have had J-Lo (my Testarossa) for nearly 6 years now and she has been a fantastic car. Everytime I get into her and drive her, the smile on my face is immense everytime I drive it and last week when I went to a wedding in it (it was the brides car for the day) the reaction it got at the wedding and driving through town was amazing. Simply the Testarossa is still an icon today without a doubt.
However the Diablo was the second supercar that I ever drove and what a beast! This was a 650BHP GT2 Spec and was an animal. Totally different driving style altogether and even more prescense on the road.
My question is, I am getting itchy feet and the temptation for a Diablo is VERY strong...but when I look at the Testarossa, I simply think it is awesome. I would love to have both, but it’s not practical with my current garaging arrangement. Be interested to hear what I should do?

I can't help with your dilemma but was wondering where your right wing mirror is in the picture? Stunning car by the way and what a choice to have to make!
Arrr Andrew, you must be a young one, god I'm starting to sound old!! The early ones only had a drivers mirror, I must admit I always thought they looked a little strange but a fantastic car never the less. What a decision to make - life is hard
I *love* the TR - along with the 308 it's probably my favourite Fez. Yours looks pretty darned mint to me!
For me though it was a no brainer - I always wanted a Lambo - *to me* they also represented the pinnacle of car ownership. Even rarer, even more outrageous!
The Diablo is awesome and I suspect you wouldn't regret owning one - what you MAY regret is parting with your beautiful TR?
I would suggest you go to as many Lambo meets as you can (the first being this sunday at Autoitalia) and check a whole bunch of them out. See what sort of condition 'cared for' cars are in (which will vary from 'cherished but *used*' to concourse) This will give you a good frame of reference if you start shopping around. Also it will reduce the intial "first diablo I've seen in ages" factor and help you to keep a cool head!
Good luck with that decision - Keep us infromed!

Without a doubt a Lambo is a natural progression of ownership and I have been VERY lucky that very good friends of mine have had them so I have had many happy hours driving in Diablo's, Countach's and a LM002-awesome and totally impractical!!
I'll be honest I do go weak at the knees when I see a Diablo, budget will not run to a 6.0 which is the ultimate all rounder IMO (The GT is very special however).
I'll probably be going LHD again, as the chances are the TR will go back to the EU or CH

Build a new garage and then you can have both???
Sadly TR is kept not in a garage to where I live, its a 8 minute drive away. The "joys" of living in London

I would say go with your heart. Diablo is prob best as youve had your ferrari for a few years now and its time you changed.
some nice ones here

Pete - Strange you're having the same thoughts as me! I've just put mine up for sale to finance the completion of my M5 racecar build but next year I'm hoping to source an early Diablo. The TR has been brilliant and I'm sure I'll regret selling it but life's too short for regrets...so Diablo is the next move.
yellowtr: You're the only person who can really answer the question: We all have our own ideas of which car is best. I love the Countach over anything and have been lucky enough to buy a good one. FWIW, I think you should follow your heart on this. I did a lot of soul searching before I took the plunge, but I've always lived with the philosophy that you have one chance in life, take it or lose it. The Diablo you drove sounds like an animal, but will the one you buy be the same? If you still love your Ferrari, keep it, unless you honestly feel you'd love a Diablo more. Owning a car for several years is only a reason to sell if you've become bored. I can't see me ever selling my Countach TBH.
So the bottom line for me is: If you sell and buy a Diablo, will you ultimately feel you've taken another opportunity in life, or lost one by losing the Ferrari?
My love is for Lamborghini's, and I've never really been taken with any Ferrari TBH, but that's me not you. You need to go for what you want and forget what others say you should want.
