Booked a hotel for three day on the net based on the fact it was a chain hotel I have used previously and liked. Booked and paid for at a 'Bargain' price with 'no refunds' secure if the knowledge that it was just a bed for the night as I have plans for the 3 days I am there;

Now I have read the reviews and Oh My God!

I think I may have to make sure my tetanus is up to date.

Although iot says "The Blackpool Metropole hotel has been refurbished throughout and our new 100% enjoyment policy means if you are not happy with the hotel, tell us at checkout and you get a refund - simple as that! All refurbished, new manager"

Looks like its going through a refurbishment so could be hit or miss whether you get a new clean room or an old crappy one.

I am thinking I wil get a crappy room. I should have known that wehn they offered me 3 nights for £75 all in, DBB that something was amiss! I am hoping they have plenty of Poles on the staff and get the work done quickly.

Pray you have a room overlooking the sea...!

From memory, if you get stuck at the back, your room will overlook the main road - which accommodates noisy cars and rumbling trams. A hundred feet away, on the other side of the road is a strip of nightclubs, bars and late night kebab shops.

I suspect it was once a very pleasant building in a nice setting, but it's since been surrounded by noise and tat.

Are you going because of the hotel offer or do you have to go anyway and just happened to come across the Metropole?
