I have just bought a Jago Jeep . It is an early one as it has the embosed star on the bonnet. It is currently fitted with a tired 1.3 x-flow . It has been sat for 2 years and needless to say most of the other components are a bit tired too ! the dash is missing and it has no roof at the mo. It has a roll cage and a spare wheel carrier fitted to the rear bumper. I am hoping to fit sierra 2.8 4x4 running gear as This should make it serious fun ! Has anyone ever done this and what advice would you give other than "dont as its really silly/dangerous" . I know it will be radicaly over powered but should be good off/on road. It is currently fitted with 6x15 weller 8 spokes and I have just bought 4 225/70/15 tyres. The tyres fitted touch the front struts !
The main problem is the set up regards the front diff/drive especially on the earlier chassis.
It may be worth contacting Belfield Engineering on 01597823992.
They are the folks responsible for bring the Jago Sandero kit back to life this year and it is now Sierra based (old ones were Anglia 105E, then Mk1 and finally Mk2 Escort. See www.joctechnical.org.uk for more info)
May work out easier to have a Sierra chassis from them to fit your body on to.

Hi, I have resurrected a project of mine that is doing almost exactly what you describe. I bought a crashed 4x4 Granada and made a good start some years ago. Due to moving house it stopped but not I have moved again and got all the space I need. The front diff/drive shaft is indeed the biggest issue as far as I can see but I have some plans up my sleeve now which I'm more than happy to share. Regards, Mark
