Memory Map - Any experiences?

Hi

Thinking of purchasing memory map for my pda to take out and about with me. Any one tried it? Any thougths or comments befor4e I commit 75 quid for the maps and cycling routes?

It's a great bit of software to have sitting on your PC. I have the whole of Scotland set of maps and being able to print out any piece of an OS map whenever you want without having to pay for it again is quite a boon. I also transfer data from my Garmin GPS back onto it at the end of a cycle and it will keep route logs for you and show you on the maps exactly where you have been.

Never used it actually out on the trail though with a PDA, but I suppose it depends how good your PDA and GPS are as to whether it is worth getting or not.

I use Memory Map too. I use it for route planning, then use a paper map on the trail. I think its great: it makes planning a balanced route much easier as you can see the gradient profile of the route, also has a fly through functionality - I've found this useful for visualising a route that might have navigational difficulties.

Superb piece of software. Never had any issues with it. Apart from it being a bit pricey (but compared with paper os maps its a bargin).
The best bit is that it will record your route on a PDA (position, speed, elevation and time) this can then be uploaded back to your PC.
If you've got a decent bluetooth GPS, its very accurate too.

Cheers guys looks like its worth the money. I've got a Fuji Loox with built in GPS and recently got an otter box for it so thats covered.
