If any of us knew, we could make a fortune.

Until Labour is gone though, there's no reason to expect sterling to appreciate against anything but the Zim dollar.

The £ will drop against the $ by another 10 per cent. Nothing surer. Buy $'s NOW.

I predict near $1.5 to £1 by the end of the year. A new US president will boost dollar value, a crap UK PM will drop the value of the pound.

Just to add... I earn USD and live in the UK, I'm just hoping my prediction is correct!

Damn.

Mind you, I can find other commentators on ft.com that suggest that the US housing market might have bottomed and that the US Govt.'s shoring-up of the financial institutions will signal a return to the safety of property investments and a consequent re-weakening of the dollar.

Well, to think it was $2.03 not too long ago.
Now look where it is, and where it's heading

Well, I would expect it it to drop to $1.60 and no more.

It's not just the fact the $ is gaining strength, it's also that the £ is becoming more unstable.
When a currency becomes unstable, no one wants it. Cue ZIM $

Let's just say, I am glad my wages are paid in Norwegian NOK !

Just 3 months ago, I had to give over NOK10 for a £1.00
Now as far as I am concerned, the £ is heading in the "right " direction

It's a race to the bottom, just difficult to know which one will get there first.

I assume you are a multi-Billionaire.
I was - until I lost it all after betting the lot on a tip by some bloke I never heard of on an internet forum.

Well, I'm hoping it does go back to $2/£1. Sorry guys.

I'm having some custom engine parts made so the exchange rate affects the price I pay. Oh, and I'm currently broke due to taking advantage of all that easy moneypaperbag

They appear to have skewed the figures in their favour. That equates to about $1.65 to the English dingbat.

Now if only my next pay cheque were exchanged at that fair rate..... ;D

yeah... the way i always look at it is that the price in $ = price in £. By the time you pay their handling, shipping, then tax & duty.. but i was usually pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately this time i was almost exactly right.
