Not many.

Cant be sure though for Singapore. I used to have to pay about 25HKD in happy hour, 55HKD normal in Wanchai until I left in Dec 2005

When a Sing $ was 2/6 to the pound, Tiger was about 50 cents in the NAAFI.. and 1/3 in HK as I recall.

rofl

$2.70 / GBP1.0

Tiger costs $3 in a hawker centre through to an eyeball watering $16 in a club, or $2.20 in a supermarket(for the same stuff!!! )

Brewerks is a microbrewery that has been here for about 10 years!!! they cost $9 - 14 / pint depending on time of day and choice of beer ....

I take it it was a while ago that you were in Singa Vipers?? Which service? and where stationed?

In response to the queries, Senior Service in 1962, first draft as a young Radio Operator, flew to Singas on a RAF passenger flight, and joined HMS Lion, a bloody big cruiser.

What an eyeopener that place was to a young lad, Sembawang village, Virgins Corner Nee Soon, and of course J.B. And the odd run up to HMS Terror to the NAAFI there for a couple of Tigers.

Going abroad those days was something, went up to H.K, Japan, Perth, through the Suez and actually went ashore in Beirut, then Malta, Gib and home, all this before I was 17, then to the West Indies.

Loads of good memories.

Most of that still exists in some form or another (or perhaps in a slightly different location

HMS Terror still exists as the American Forces "Terror Club" bar and social club.

They do an open house on 4th July, i got very very drunk on margaritas there earlier this year hehe
