on-line banking safety

[Dunc B]

When it comes to on-line banking, is there a security issue with using different email addresses.
i.e. Using my hotmail account I seem to regularly get the flashing pop-ups despite AV software, but never do when using my normal e-mail.
Will probably be moving soon so it seems easier to register a bank account on hotmail as it will be easier for me to access from elsewhere, just need to know if it will also be easier for someone else to access as well.
I don't really want to be funding more North African princes!

If you buy your own domain name, then you can keep the same email address for as long as you own the domain.

Eg if you buy the domain "www.duncb.com" then you can have the email address of:

[e-mail]

And that would be your email address forever - doesn't matter if you change your internet provider, move country etc etc etc - a tiny bit of admin will maintain the same email address whatever happens.

Speak to PH'er JamieBeeston (sponsor of the computers forum on PH) for more advice.

ETA: Using your own domain, with a decent host also means that you can access your email anywhere where you have web access as well (almost the same as using hotmail to be honest!)
