tbh for all the hassle of dying it, i'd trawl through ebay or go to a saab breakers and find a replacement interior. most likely a similar cost and easier to sort.
but is it just not the case that they need a good clean up?
thanks for the advice, but is it just not the case that they need a good clean up?
I've cleaned them with autosmart brisk to no real effect. they are pretty clean, just faded from 20 years of sunlight!
Saab???
If your drivers seat is in good condition (i.e. not torn) then consider selling them and buying leather, that interior in good condition (and it is) is very very rare. Until recently (when I solved my interior issues) I would happily have paid £200 for that interior, full 944 leather will be very little (if any) more.
But seriously they look fine, they do look a little faded anyway (weren't jet black when new) as they are what is commonly known as silk, I don't think it is real silk but it has a silky finish.
If for some reason you can't cope with them and want a straight swap for a mint pinstripe interior (the alternative to Porsche script in the era) then let me know.
