Hello All,
My dad is looking at an 04 spec 525 SE touring with the view to part ex an R reg 520, they have offered £1500 for the part ex and another £1000 off the screen price of £13500.

The car is reasonably well specced but not great. It has leather, parking sensors, bluetooth prep but that is about it with 60k on the clock, no sport kit or larger wheels or sat nav etc.

Now first question is the 525 actually a 3 litre engine 218 bhp ? and second question is this a reasonably price considering the spec, having looked on the web it would appear there are not many 525 tourings about mainly 530 or 530d so I have found it hard to value.

All opinions welcome

is it a current or old shape? I would say its a good price if its current shape or bad if its old shape. its a 2.5L 197bhp six from memory not a 3L.

An 04 525i Touring E60 will have the 192bhp M54B25 2.5 litre engine from the E39.

2007 I think? It was changed to a more powerful 2.5 before then as well.

Yes that was the 2007 change - both 525i and 530i now use the same basic block.
