Removing the ECU?

Hi I'm thinking of getting my ECU re-flashed to lower the cam changeover point. 
Is there any precautions i should take to ensure I don't break anything?
Basically all i need to do is unhook the battery wait 10 mins for any leftover charge to leave the system then remove and unplug the ECU.
Not missing anything am I?
Its a 2005 S2 111r.
