[suck eggs]

2 options...

1) Crap yourself and offload them, no matter what you lose.
2) Hold on to them as a longer term option.

I'd go 2. smile

What are directors of HBOS doing? It would be interesting to see if they are buying their own stock - that would be a good pointer to option 3.

Saw a PLC go tits earlier this year yes the directors kept on buying right upto that point.

HBOS won't have any huge problems imo.

Ade, I understand the sentiment, but what are you going to do with it?, put the money under the matress?

If the media whip up sufficient hysteria that the majority of the public start to withdraw their deposits, we will have a totally unjustified run on the 4th largest and best capitalised bank in the UK. The hedge fund investors win, run for cover, and leave the entire UK economy in tatters.
The like of which we have NEVER seen.

I think this is the begining of the end, for much of the monetary system as we know it.
At least I hope it is the end of the gravy train for the few gaining at the expense of the unwashed masses in what we euphamistically call "a service based economy"

BUY GOLD... Oh no... too late for that...

Anyway, just leaving to board the Lear to family retreat in the Caymen Islands.
Would the last man out, turn the light out.

Goodnight

(Oh it's late, have another beer, it will all be okay next week)

Unfortunately I have a water-bed. I guess I could fill it with champagne. On reflection I think I'll just short HBOS shares into the ground and let the government reimburse my 35K, win-win?

Crazy stuff. Load up at 8.59am for 80p, wait for BBC News, then 'bosh' - 300% return in an hour or so.

Nice work if you can get it.

For every 100 shares you had in HBOS at the close of play yesterday you will be given 83 shares in Lloyds by my understanding.
