preliminary wiper control button?

Aka- the horn! my wipers sometimes decide not to work, its not that often but none the less i have discovered (dont ask me how), that a quick toot and they will work on the next press of the wiper button. Anyone else had this?

Yep. Still do have it. It also affects full beam. My worst nightmare is driving along in the rain, at night, in London. I can multi-task, but the constant tooting; indicating, tooting; wipers tooting; headlights, is a challenge!

It has been suggested to me that something is perhaps shorting out, which is why the 'toot' resets everything. Haven't found anyone keen to investigate yet. Look forward to hearing anything you find out and I will keep you posted .

poor earth or damaged ribbon cable to indicator circuit located on the steering shaft would be my guess

Same here. On the odd morning the wipers dont work...TOOT TOOT (a Cerb really should have a more manly horn...fnaar fnaar) and all is well again

Edited to add; there was a thread a while back with noisier options, but they were a bit insane according to the video clips.........

Yes Nikky...I started the thread because my horn stopped working. Then after 2 days of moaning I actually opened the bonnet and found the air pipe to the horn had simply come off at one end
