RSR's vs Fabspeeds
Discussion
I have on order from Gert the RSR's, but recently stumbled upon this page from Fabspeeds website
www.fabspeed.com/993mufflers.html
I am now worried and am thinking about the Maxflos
BTW, I have the motorsound option on my 94 C2 with a Remapped ECU, I like the oval tips I already have, my other questions are as follows:
1) Would the Maxflos have a bid HP advantage over the RSR's?
2) The picture on their website leads me to conclude that the Maxflos are a mufflers and tip change, can anyone clarify.
TIA

Fabspeed is generally acknowledged to talk s**t when it comes to power gains - on top of that, I am sure a search on Ren**ist would show several hits of people removing Fabspeed exhausts for painful resonance reasons. Don't think I've ever seen a complaint about RSR's, closest was from some poor sod selling them because he couldn't meet some of the track noise tests!
YMMV, my 2p, etc - cheers, Maurice (stock exhausts).

IMHO, it is best to assume NO power increase when changing exhausts, unless you have the engine remapped. Often the gains only come with air filter and chip as well as the exhaust.
An exhaust should primarily be bought for sound, but remember that louder doesn't always mean better as UV once got an exhaust that made his lively 965 sound like a tractor. Sometimes the stock exhaust sounds better. Also, remember that trackdays are mostly noise limited these days, as Maurice says. I have had to ditch a beautifully sounding sports exhaust for this reason.
