Ok I know this has been covered briefly before, but I have another couple of questions biggrin

Basically the seats in my T350 are looking rather sorry for themselves, and if im honest, i dont find them all that supportive. I was in my local car shop today, and sat in these..

And found them much better! Now I know there is limited room in the cabin, but these seats didnt seem that big (wide) They are 530mm at the widest point. Any idea if I could fit them?

Depends where that max size is - a bit tricky to tell looking at your pic.

Just re-measured, and at front of seat base, my Cobra Imolas were reduced in width to fit, on the transmission-tunnel side only. They are now 500mm wide at that point and couldn't be any wider. Incidentally this will be the same in any post-'92 TVR as all the chassis are similarly wide at that point

At shoulder width the Cobra's are 550mm wide, and fine as standard, as there's more space.

ah right ok, I'll maybe have to find some better drawings/sizes etc. I still want to have the recline ability!

How did you get subframes to fit? Did you machine the standard ones onto universal ones?

Cobra had the car a few days & made up fixed ones specially to fit.

They tried first with adjustable runners but would have only moved 1" due to limited room against tunnel again! rolleyes

You may have same space problem with a recline function too...

I was looking into these Recaro – Sportster CS seats as well; I have all the technical dimensions for them, if you want I can e-mail it to you.
At first glance they look to be no wider than the original seats, I was going to visit Demon thieves and see if I could compare the originals and Recaro’s side by side.

I was planning on changing them around charismas time, having other priorities with the car at the moment (new gearbox & possible clutch, modified steering rack, new alloy radiator).

What are you thinking of modifying about the steering rack?

Targarama,

I am going to shim up the steering rack to enable the tie rods to be parallel with the wishbones, with the aim of reducing bump steer. Not sure how well it will work, but something to try.

Don't know about the Recaros but the Sparcos that were going to be fitted to the Sag MKII and later Tuscans are available through TVR Power.

Is it just me then who actually likes the standard T350 type seats for comfort...

I've had sparcos and recardos from other cars, but I actually prefer the T350 ones, they are quite nice once they have had
additional lumber support and heated elements fitted.

I would only replace them if I wanted to fit seats with power slides and position memory.

Oh, when I got my seats retrimmed by Dave back in August, he fitted heated elements for me and added some additional lumber support for my back. He could have done the standard bags,
but said the comfort would be better with customized foam, so that's what he did.

The seats have 2 settings - warm and very warm. Would be perfect for just about now if I had her about. Use it on the Evora all the time currently...

Heated seats? Heated seats?

You've crossed a line there Alex.

I agree the standard T350 / early Sagaris seats are very comfortable - no complaints there. Shockingly poor lateral support though, which is what is making me toy with the idea of changing the sets. Provision for harnesses would be another (lesser) reason too. Obviously I'd need an extra horizontal bar attached to the roll cage if I were going for harnesses.

...but surprisingly very comfortable, even on a long journey. Worth consideration.
