It seems to be completely closed up and the website has gone.
Any ideas?

That's a damn shame, they were brilliant when around 4 years ago I needed to call in for a minor but essential repair on the way to Europe for a month. Too many good people and organisations have been lost.

Balls....That's my local TVR workshop....I had heard nothing about it going.

That's a shame. Always thought the guys there were very good and they have sorted out a few bits with the car and given it two services including a major one...very professional, and they delighted in including me in their diagnosis sessions which helped me to understand the car so much better.

Hope they all get into decent employment ASAP.

Ben

What has the govenrment got to do with TVR shutting the factory, stopping production and starving its dealer network of continued sources of revenue (sales of new cars and servicing of said new cars)?

Eh?

I hate this govt but they have SFA to do with this. Blame Smolenski and Oxley if you want but not the govt.

I am sure I saw a Henley car transporter on the M25 today with a Sagaris on the back. Strange.

And possibly HH for not diversifying?

This all makes sense...I wondered why I've been having to chase them for months for cash they owe me!

Seemed like good guys though, looks like its Racing Green for me from now on!

That's a bugger - not to mention a shock! I always rated the guys at Henley Heritage for the work they did on my cars.

Who else do folks recommend for servicing etc in the Oxford area now there's no HH to go to?

Thanks,
Neville

I'm still feeling depressed after the news about Henley Heritage but good to hear that Jason & some of the crew are keeping going - hope it goes really well for them and that the rest of the guys from Henley find something quickly.

Thanks for the suggestions about other options in the area - need to organise a service and mot next month.

Cheers,
Neville

Forget The Government, Smolenski, Oxley, absence of new cars etc. Henley Heritage may have had some good guys on the tools but whoever owned the business and employed the 'Sales Manager' is, IMO, entirely responsible for the failure of the business. If his or her judgement allowed the employment of a complete knob in such a position, what other toxic stratagies could have been in place.

I have bought and sold many cars but I had never encountered such dreadful perfomance by anyone charged with dealing with customers ready, willing and able to buy a car that was sitting in the showroom! They lost my £18,000 - £19,000 purchase before we even got to discussing price!!

This was my first experience of 'TVR' and almost my last. It happened just a couple of months after the factory failed and left me thinking 'with dealers like this, no wonder they went broke'

Had it not been for perseverence and finding my 450 in the PH Classifieds a few weeks later, I would have just walked away, as I'm sure many others actually did. You cannot run a business successfuly by putting it in the charge of idiots capable of making executive decisions.

So before you go blaming Governments and various others who had no part in the apalling management of this business, just think for a moment that the fault could be much closer to home. In fact, having related the details of my story to as many people as possible who may have had ideas of dealing with HH's sales department, you may actually want to blame me!

And did you tell the people who actually could do something positive about it - the management / owners?

Why should any potential customer waste THEIR time unless that outlet is the only source for something they want?
If you are already a customer and have a gripe then you stand to gain something by going above whoever is cr@p at their job.
As a new customer there is no shortage of people to spend your money with, even in the TVR world. If enough people walk away their days are numbered and rightly so.

The owners of the business earn their living from "running" that business, they are not doing it for nothing. It isn't the job of the customers to do their job for them and then pay them for the privelege.

That's a fair point.

I've had a recent experience with a local TVR sales bod and although I advised I was driving 1 1/2 hours to look at a car, it was ill prepared, he seemed reluctant to show my anything and wouldn't even let me out in it unless I was prepared to buy it....i've heard other poor stories too, but how do you know who to talk to?

Spend your money elsewhere.

If this is the level of the service when you are spending money, imagine what it would be like if you had to get something done when they have nothing to gain, eg warranty claim.
