It is interesting to note that the VXR8 doesnt seem popular, loads for sale and prices close to the last 6L VXR Monaro's.

I am wondering if in time we are goign to see a 993 vs 996 Porsche style situation with the Monaro's being worth more (perhaps as they look better)

yes, but there is a low mileage very late 2007 6L VXR on the web site for £18,250 whilst the VXR8 entry level is £23k on one car so you distort the current numbers.

But at the end of the day he does have a point.I think the Monaro will be worth more as i does look better than the VXR8 anyway. And if i had gone for a VXR8 on a 2007 plate i wouldnt be that happy on what you can get them for now,and wouldnt even want to even try and add up how much i have lost. lol
I dont think it will be long before a VXR8 is worth less than a Ro
Only time will tell

It's simple really. If you want a new Monaro can you buy one? Given it's unique design being a coupe and limited production it'll be worth more in the end and will be a classic.

Why would you want a 6.2L Astra look-a-like when you can have a GT coupe

I'm anticipating that VXR8s will drift down in price quite rapidly; the pressures due to VED and fuel seem to be applying a downward pressure on price to all vehicles such as these. Now the recent worsening economic situation will apply even more pressure.

It seems to me that by hanging on there will be more offerings at lower costs.

You are so hurtful, I've got an Astra VXR and a VXR8. Don't agree the R8 looks like an Astra though. Anyway there's nowt wrong with Astra's shape. As we say oop North.

your question was how long before VXR8's are less than VXR's (or simular words) i was just showing that actually they already are, no distortion two cars for sale on Autotrader and the Monaro is on for more.

I like the VXR8. Not as much as the Monaro but i like it. I have to admit though the first time i saw one it did remind me of a Vectra.
