Here ones for you medical types! (and yes – I have/am visting the quacks!)

For the past few years I’m been having chest pain, stomach cramps, vomiting and blackouts! About 4 years ago an abulance was called and I had tests done – but everything came back fine. Big family history of heart issues (Mum had heart attack at 40, Mum survived!) I’m 33.

Since then I’m had shed loads of tests done for ulcers, gallstones and various other blood tests.

Blood pressure is slightly high, did have high cholesterol – but now fine, suger levels fine.

I chuck up about three times a week and on Monday I went to the Doctors and he has booked me in for an ECG on Thursday. Last night however I blacked out after vomiting heavily and Mrs Tee called an ambulance. They wired me up, did an ECG which was fine but my blood pressure was in my boots. Very low.

At hostital, my blood presure returned to normal – then (my normal) high. Doctor simply asked me to follow his finger and discharged me not knowing what’s wrong. He was a dick!

I feel I now need to ask for tests to be done as I’m getting nowhere and need to sort this. Everybody tells me I’m fine. I tend to think different when I hit the floor in a pool of my tea!!!!!!

I’m getting very pissed off with it all. Any ideas?

Errrm. I think you need a proper Doctor. Not a bunch of guys taking the piss on the Internet. I realise we do have some very kind Docs and other medical professionals on here - but what can they do when they can't see you!?

This sounds important. Get checked out - even if you have to pay for it.

that's the problem. i've seen 4 doctors now. I was wondering if anybody had similar symptoms on here and actually found out whats wrong with them.

I agree with Don, it doesn't sound too clever, be persistant and insist the doctors check everything.

Anyway, back to the piss taking -

It could be bad Aids?

According to the interweb, its menstrual cramps.

Whatever they are.

But seriously, see where the ECG takes you and give your current GP the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

Blacking out whilst puking is scary, but in some people vomiting stimulates vagal response and is as simple as that. This will drop your blood pressure and can make you black out. Cause of vomiting is another story, but don't worry too much.

Something up in the brain as a wild guess (I'm an engineer not a medic before you start worrying).

When I had serious problems with my foot a few years back I finally got it sorted by researching it myself on the net. I then went to my GP saying "I think my foot is broken and I want you to x-ray it" At which point he asked me all the usual questions to which I already knew the correct answers to get my x-ray. Sent me for an X-ray and lo-and-behold it was indeed still broken despite the cast having been off for 36 months.

Careful in your research though as you have to take anything you read on the net with a pinch of salt as you tend to find more horror stories than anything else.

Starter for 10 is plug the symptoms into google and see what it comes back with.

My Mrs blacks out whenever she is sick. The docs said it was relatively common as the cramping and wretching is stopping blood getting to your brain - the biggest danger is if she hits her head on the loo seat!

The doc has suggested that. but the last time i blacked out was at my mothers birthday dinner. Laughing and joking one minute and head it the table in a comedy sketch type synario the next !

I have also seen *Mash* and Casualty, I believe I am now formally qualified to carry out brain surgery while flirting with the nurses and drinking martini's in the 'Swamp'.
